For mediterranean sea kayakers to paddle in the ocean is a dream, above all if the ocean
is the North Atlantic that laps the troubled coast of Scottish Highlands.
But the perfect travel for all sea kayakers is a circle, always a new route to land at the end
of the trip on the same beach from which the kayak was launched, in few words a
circumnavigation!
Fortunately for us through the Caledonian Canal it will be possible
to paddle Around Highlands and finish the travel at the same point of the start.
Two friends, Francesco and Tatiana, that paddled together in almost every kind of sea conditions want to
commit themselves into the challenging sea of Scotland already sailed by
internationally renowned kayakers like Paul Caffyn, Nigel Dennis, Chris Duff and many others.
In the same time it will be possible to know more about a so fascinating coutry, far in the
north, populated by people so accustomed to cold, rain and wind, as we have confidence
in the burning sun.
Maurizio, chained in Italy by his job, instead of brandishing his paddle and join
us into the expedition offered us his help in finding sponsors and be our "personal blogger",
publishing all the diary that we will able to send him by sms or phone calls.
Throughout this the final intention is to collect images and srories to be published in a book that could
help to disclose the strangely uncommon
sea kayak practice between italians and mediterranean people.
