Some members of Maremotu Sea Kayaking Co. created an Adventure Team, mainly sponsored by Sea Kayak Design.
The aim of the Maremotu Adventure Team is to promote adventures by sea-kayak, organizing sea kayak expeditions and
trips.
Exploration by sea-kayak needs to be very well organized logistically, and participants must be perfectly prepared, as well as giving great attention to all safety aspects. Only an extremely united and well-prepared team - especially from a psychological point of view - can sail over unknown and difficult seas and the right equipment is a must. The Maremotu Adventure Team test during expeditions the Sea Kayak Design boats under difficult, sometimes even dire, conditions, helping in designing crafts which are always reliable and high performance. Before the creation of the Maremotu Adventure Team members of our staff with other paddlers or in solo kayaking have already done long unsupported travels by sea kayak that we call "expeditions". Past, present and future expeditions planned by some of us are reported in these pages along with links to pictures, video, short diary or magazine articles. |
